Nakajima Ki-27

Nakajima Ki-21 (Allied code name Nate) Japanese fighter used since 1937 on the Pacific theater of World War 2 and over Southeast Asia. Before the introduction of Mitsubishi A6M Zero it was the main fighter of Japanese Army that was able to keep up with all the Allied fighters in region. But just like the main bomber Mitsubishi Ki-21 the Ki-27 construction was excellent when the opponents had only obsolete fighters. When Chinese have received fast Soviet fighter planes Polikarpov I-16, the American Volunteer Group brought P-40 Warhawk, the glory days for Ki-27 were over. Soon they were removed from front line (replaced by Nakajima Ki-43) and served for training purposes.
