Mitsubishi Ki-21

Mitsubishi Ki-21 (Allied code name Sally) was Japanese medium bomber used mostly in war against China in 1930s and at the beginning of World War 2 on Pacific. Initially they were very successful, mostly because their opponents over China and Malaya were old fighters, but when 1st American Volunteer Group joined the Chinese Air Force with their P-40 Warhawk the flaws of Ki-21 were more and more obvious - low speed and very poor defensive armament. By 1942 they were moved away from the frontlines and served in reserve units or for training purposes.
