Improved version of tank destroyer Marder I built on the chassis of Panzer II tank with 75mm gun installed on them. Just like Marder I and Panzerjaeger I the Marder II had open-top chassis, which meant that crew had very little protection from gunfire, explosions and infantry fire. The lower silhouette of Marder II was improvement, but still they had to be used in ambushes and retreat if engaged to avoid beind destroyed with first salvo of the enemy. Marder II was used on the Eastern Front and in Normandy.
