American Indian Wars war movies

Series of conflicts between European countries, that were bringing their settlers to America, and the native Indians that were trying to stop the invasion on their land. After the North American colonies gained independence in 1776 the situation hasn’t changed much - the United States of America continued to expand towards the west and thus continuing the conflict. There are no clear dates to mark the beginning and the end of American Indian Wars, it is implied they were intermittently running from about 1610 until 1924, which makes it one of the longest conflicts in history. The reason behind the American Indian Wars were running for over 300 years is rather simple - native Indians were not consolidated in one nation, the tribes separately were rebelling against the invaders or the American government was separately signing treaties with them (that usually later were broken by US government).

In the colonial period of American Indian Wars (until 1776) the European settlers were the epicenter of the conflict - either the Indians were attacking the colonies or the European forces were trying to expand the land. After American War of Independence the ideologies such as Manifest Destiny (belief that United States are destined to stretch from coast to coast) were spreading among Americans and their settlers were pushing towards west and taking the land. American government took up the plan to use forced relocation to a controlled Indian reservation as a way of putting stop to the conflicts, but since it was done heavy-handedly it often led to rebellions. American Indian Wars ended around 1924.
