Operation Anthropoid was the Allied organized operation in occupied Czechoslovakia, the assassination Reinhard Heydrich, head of the Reich Main Security Office and governor of of Bohemia and Moravia. Heydrich was one of the high level Nazi officials, who were behind "final solution to the Jewish question", a policy that tried to justify the Holocaust, and brutal treatment of civilians in occupied Czechoslovakia.

The assassination was carried out by Czechoslovaks dropped intro occupied territory, who attacked Heydrich’s car using machine guns and grenades on the street of Prague. Heydrich died of the wounds on June 4, his assassins were killed in firefight at St Cyril and Methodius Cathedral, where they took refuge trying to avoid being caught.
