
Sea convoys during World War II made it possible for Britain and Russia to keep fighting Germans. The sailors that were running the convoys were put under unbelievable strains - U-boats, planes, warships were trying to stop them.

American merchant navy crew takes part in the large convoy to Murmansk and faces German submarines and planes.

In the summer of 1942, the arctic convoy PQ-17 sets out towards the Arkhangelsk with vital war supplies. When U-Boats attack, the convoy has to split and a Norwegian crew of a merchant ship has to carry on without any support.

Young cadets join the pride of German navy, the submarines, to get the chance to be the attacking side for once.
