1960s war movies

During 1960s in American war movies the topic of Korean War seemed to be long forgotten and the creators were concentrating on the glory of World War 2 operations rather than current conflicts (like Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Britain, The Longest Day, In Harm’s Way). Contrary to 1940s and 1950s more war time comedies were filmed and more often the historic conflicts were displayed (like Zulu, The Alamo, The Charge of the Light Brigade). Also the new type of war movies was introduced - the adventures movies loosely connected to real adventures during the war taht had more in common with westerns than war movie (f.e. Hell Is for Heroes, Where Eagles Dare, The Dirty Dozen). Vietnam War caused army to cut down on expenses on movie production, so the creators could not count on military equipment being provided to them. Due to next stage of Cold War tension the creators of war movies again prepared few productions to remind politicians that they are playing with the future of whole humanity (f.e. Fail-Safe, The Bedford Incident).
