War between allied Kingdom of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania against the Teutonic Knights. The Teutonic Knights were brought to this region in order to help local Christian towns attacked by pagan hordes from the east, but the Knights did more than that - they have built castles, strongholds and soon started to act like an independent country within borders of other countries, which caused diplomatic disputes and sometimes local skirmishes. Inspired by the local Samogitian uprising, the war began by Teutonic invasion of Poland in August 1409.
