Weather station on Greenland picks up strange radio signal coming from the area and soon they are attacked by Nazi soldiers. German officer and the commander of the weather station have to find the way to cooperate in order to survive.
Allied forces weather base on Greenland once again detects unknown radio signal broadcasting from somewhere in the Arctic Circle area. Despite the interferences they hear how the pilot of the plane, having limited visibility, is guided by the radio signal directly into the high mountains. Sikora, the commander of the weather station, decided to see if anyone survived the crash, but when they reach the place they are attacked by German soldiers. As a result of the fight German commander Oberleutnant Weber and Sikora lose contact with rest of the people. From that point their survival depends on cooperation, which is rare luxury among enemies.
The screenplay was written by Alina and Czeslaw Centkiewicz, who specialized in stories taking place among the snows and the great wastelands of the north. The film is quite clichéd - the need to survive on hostile territory forces puts the whole idea of the war in completely different perspective for the two main characters. They have to overcome the hostility to have a chance of getting out of this situation in one piece. The ending of the movie is quite unexpected, but overall this is a pretty average movie, not just for war movie - in general it is not a masterpiece.
