Wydra, Polish partisan, is the executioner in his unit. That job with time killed all the human emotions in him, but his next target is someone he knows - manager of local mill, who is suspected of being Nazi collaborator.
Autumn 1943, Poland is occupied by the Nazi forces, who are struggling on the Eastern Front. Partisans unit is hiding in the forest hoping to avoid another raid from German soldiers. There is only handful of them, they are cold, hungry, they live in the dugouts and have to visit nearby towns for supplies. Wydra (Otter) is the unit executioner, his job is to execute the orders of the underground organization that points the people collaborating with the Nazis. He takes them on a walk into the woods, where he kills them, far enough from the camp so the Germans would not find the way and the body would not stink the place while rotting. That assignment stripped Wydra of all human emotions, he became a killing machine. His next target is someone he actually knows, a manager of local mill, Henryk Kondolewicz. They were in the same class in ground school, although were never friends, the situation becomes more complicated since Kondolewicz is aware why Wydra suddenly visits his house. But there are more layers to that story and reasons why Kondolewicz is the next on the death list of resistance.
Polish war movie written and directed by Marcin Krzysztalowicz, son of partisan, who during the World War 2 was fighting in Home Army (Armia Krajowa). The movie was developed as tribute to his father and to grasp the atmosphere in partisans units during the war based on the memories of the veteran, but unfortunately it failed on both sides. The story is interesting, involving, the cast was ok, but the narrative style, poorly written dialogues and poor directing made this production fail to use the full potential of the story. The basic concept was good, but the constant flow of vulgarities and historical inaccuracies (including some of those vulgarities) did not gave Manhunt any chance of succeeding.
