German biplane designed in 1930s to give the navy a reconnaissance aircraft that would also be able to carry torpedoes. He 59 had version with twin-floats and also wheeled landing gear. During Civil War they were used on the coasts by the Condor Legion, during the World War 2 it served as minelaying aircraft or torpedo carrier, but due to not very impressive load capacity and insuficcient armament soon they were moved to reconnaissance and air-sea rescue missions, transport or training. Few He 59 were used by Finnish Air Force in 1943 for patrol duties.
