After king Edward I of England have claimed feudal suzerainty of Scotland the leaders of Scots (like Andrew Moray and William Wallace) have revolted. The conflict was going on for over 30 years, even though the English side have significant advantage, in both numbers and technology used by their army the Scottish warriors were making use of the rough terrain of their land and the determination of patriots. Their decisive victories in first battles were good prognosis for the English, but later Scots fighting for their freedom not only were able to beat the English in some of the battles, but also cause heavy casualties.
