On 11 September 1297, the forces of Scottish leaders Andrew Moray and William Wallace defeated the combined English forces of John de Warenne and Hugh de Cressingham near Stirling. The English had huge advantage in power (over 10000 men against about 2300 Scots), but their opponents made use of the fact that bridge was really narrow and they attacked when only part of the English forces have crossed the bridge. English were unable to push more forces across nor retreat those who were already on the other side.
William Wallace, the hero of Scotland, challenges the king of England in fight for freedom of his countrymen.
